Quantitative Verbetral Morphometry Using Neighbour - Conditional Shape Models

نویسنده

  • Tim Cootes
چکیده

• Deals with problem of corresponding open curves where endpoints are not defined (ie best correspondence would involve missing of end parts of some curves) • Uses thin-plate spline bending energy to measure quality of correspondence • Treats problem in pairwise manner • Initial landmarks can slide along boundary to minimise obj.fn. • Seems to fix one shape as template, clip a proportion off and register to the rest. The amount clipped is varied and chosen to optimise a normalised bending energy • Describes encouraging results compared to MDL and an earlier sliding landmark method on femur outline shapes.

Quantitative Vertebral Morphometry Using Neighbor-Conditional Shape Models

A novel method for vertebral fracture quantification from X-ray images is presented. Using pairwise conditional shape models trained on a set of healthy spines, the most likely normal vertebra shapes are estimated conditional on the shapes of all other vertebrae in the image. The difference between the true shape and the reconstructed normal shape is subsequently used as a measure of abnormalit...

Semiautomatic Segmentation of Vertebrae in Lateral X-rays Using a Conditional Shape Model1

Rationale and Objectives. Manual annotation of the full contour of the vertebrae in lateral x-rays for subsequent morphometry is time-consuming. The standard six-point morphometry is commonly used instead. It has been shown that the information from the complete contour improves the quality of the study. In this article, the six landmarks are given and the vertebrae are segmented taking advanta...

Conditional Random Fields for Airborne Lidar Point Cloud Classification in Urban Area

Over the past decades, urban growth has been known as a worldwide phenomenon that includes widening process and expanding pattern. While the cities are changing rapidly, their quantitative analysis as well as decision making in urban planning can benefit from two-dimensional (2D) and three-dimensional (3D) digital models. The recent developments in imaging and non-imaging sensor technologies, s...

Texture-based segmentation and a new cell shape index for quantitative analysis of cell spreading in AFM images.

A new cell shape index is defined for use with atomic force microscopy height images of cell cultures. The new cell shape index reveals quantitative cell spreading information not included in a conventional cell shape index. A supervised learning-based cell segmentation algorithm was implemented by texture feature extraction and a multi-layer neural network classifier. The texture feature sets ...
